We celebrated my daughter's 13th birthday for Sunday Brunch! The ambiance nice and comfortable. The DJ kept us dancing and bobbing for the entire 1 1/2HRS with a superb selection of back in the days tunes. The food was good! We enjoyed the whole VYBZ! They helped us celebrate by giving the BD girl a shoutout and a beautiful decorated slice of velvet cake! Will definitely revisit!
The venue's decor and layout is really nice. The bartender was very friendly. The $5 margaritas actually taste really good. The oxtail dumplings were made well, corn soup tasted great, and so did the jerk wings. The DJ had us dancing in our seats almost the entire night. The oral vibe was comfortable and familiar, which I loved.
I have a list of restaurants I want to visit this just so happen to be one of the places i saw and was like yup we're going there. I also got confirmation from a mutual friend about their oxtail dumplings so I knew we was going there. The ambience is amazing at least me to there's a mixture of Asian and Caribbean exactly the representation of what the restaurant is there's umbrellas on the ceiling it's cute I love it. Now let's get to the food for starters we order the oxtail dumplings They were as just amazingly delicious as I expected them to be they were juicy and so soft and tender just the way we like them. We also ordered 2 of their signature drinks (Czen punches ) they were very, very good and strong just how I like them. Definitely ended the night with a slight buzz after 2 Czen punches. Now let's get down to the entrees I ordered the salmon it came with mashed potatoes veggies now I will say this I have a huge love/hate relationship with salmon I feel like people/restaurants don't make good salmon I always feel like it's bland, chewy, fishy (my opinion) yet I continue to order salmon because I like it when it's made properly. Since this place is supposed to be so good I said let me try salmon. Very very happy that my choice was salmon. It was season right and the mango sauce that was drizzled on it made it even better it was tender and juicy just how I like it very happy with my decision. My boyfriend order the ramen oxtail bowl the restaurant was out so he had to pick another choice. He chose the garlic shrimp with white rice ,bok choy. He said the shrimp were very good he loved them. (I agree I had one to ) The waiter was nice and attentive can't remember her name. We waited awhile for our food that's my only complaint other than that we had a great time. ohhhhhhh and we didn't even know there were comedians coming to perform. The show was ok I enjoyed it. Overall I would most definitely recommend this spot to who ever is looking for some good Caribbean-Asian food. Oh I forgot to mention lastly this spot is so deep in Brooklyn in New York (on Utica) For me the travel is worth it especially if the food is better than you expected it to be. I'll go anywhere for some good food.
Pleasantly surprised at the atmosphere in this location, definitely spacious as it was a random stop for us to check out. We were seated right away and just took a lil time to order as my sister was debating what she wanted. Once it started getting more packed, service did become a bit slower as we were ready to order. I loved my meal and drink, it does have a kick to it. The tempura Fish cakes reminds of bacalaitos, just a bit different with tempura. Would def try the other menu items here.
Love the aesthetics of the location a great take on Asian and Caribbean decor. Location is in a quiet section of Brooklyn. There was plenty of parking on the street which made it great. The restaurant itself was a bit compact and the lab seating was tight. The houses was very pleasant. The service was a bit stressed. I didn't realize that the time was that only one Cook had come in and the weight was extremely long. I wish that they had told us that upfront and let us have the option of staying or leaving. As other people came in and started to realize how long the wait was they left but we were the third table in so you really couldn't tell. At that point again the food was excellent. I had the Bailey pancake deluxe, which was simply great. The pancakes were fluffy and light with a slight hint of the Bailey really nice syrup with the bacon. My mom had the shrimp and grits which she really liked. I tasted one of her shrimp, which was Seasoned to perfection. The food was great. This was my second time having brunch the first time I had it to go and we picked it up. I had some family in town so I decided to take them for brunch after service on Sunday.
I was recommended this place by a friend, so I made reservations for my birthday dinner (party of 6). Upon entering, the restaurant was not as busy as I thought it would be because it was a Friday night, but I was honestly fine with that. We were sat immediately in a half booth/table. Our waitress recommended the Rum punch cocktail to my friend and I ordered the Lychee Piña Colada. The drinks were a bit disappointing as my drink didn't have a hint of Lychee and the Rum punch was definitely a bit too strong, but still tasted good. We ordered the Oxtail roll and Jerk fried chicken and both of those dishes truly stole the show! The flavors were well seasoned, delicious, and had me wanting more. For my entrée, I ordered the CZEN chicken bowl with orange thai chili and vegetable fried rice. They are not shy when it comes to seasoning. but the amount of sauce they put on the chicken overpowered the whole dish, and therefore I couldn't eat more than a few bites. Shoutout to the staff and owner for being so welcoming and for giving us a round of yummy green tea shots!
The food hands down was amazing. I literally wanted to asked to see who the chef was and shake their hands because the food was amazing. The atmosphere was calm. They play Afro beat Caribbean music. It was not to loud it was at a perfect level. This place is a gem. Check it out
